I love spring cleaning and I’ve been doing a lot of it in getting ready to go full time RVing. There’s been several rounds of cleaning, sorting, trashing and donating. I feel like I’ve done a lot of moving piles from one location to another just so one area will look organized. Yesterday, I made big progress in actually sorting what is definitely going with me and what still has to go.
I’m going to Greyhounds in Gettysburg this weekend with 2 girlfriends and we’re leaving at 4am on Friday morning. Since we are leaving so early they are staying here Thursday night. This was great motivation to clean out the spare room, also known as Google’s room (my first greyhound) that’s been taken over by Addie (my girl greyhound). She basically kicked him out. After all a girl’s gotta have her space with 3 boys in the house.
I managed to fill 2 big bags with books which I took to the library and donated. I also took a stack of records (yes, actual albums) and cassettes that I’ve been carrying around with me for 30 years, o the local record store. I sold them for $20. Not a lot but every dollar helps. I also took pictures of more items and added them to my Facebook page at Greyt RV Adventures. I sold several more things so that was good too.
As all of this is going on, I’m finishing an almost full size sculpture that has to go with me to Gettysburg on Friday. This is the largest sculpture I’ve done to date. These things always sound good in theory until you get into it and realize how much more work and time goes into it. The usual sculptures I do are 8″ x 10″ and take about 20-30 hours to complete. This one is about 3 ft. tall and almost as long.
I also talked to the RV dealership and they said my travel trailer should be out of their shop by yesterday and then said it would be another 3 weeks before it could get on a truck to their dealership. Which is good timing as I’m not planning on leaving until June 1. So still plenty of time to get everything done without feeling too rushed.
. This will be a great test run for how I I will be posting on my Happy Tails Roadshow blog from the Greyhounds in Gettysburg event if you would like to follow along want to cover the events.
